What the audit flags
- No UTM parameters, or a URL that uses http instead of https
- A parameter that appears twice, or a parameter name that is not lowercase
- Values that don't follow your naming rules, with the value they should be
- Values that are not on a locked approved list
For each ad, the audit uses the tracking template when it carries UTMs, otherwise the final URL with its URL suffix, taking the setting from the ad, ad group, campaign or account level that applies.
Good to know
- The audit only reads. The script never changes your ad URLs.
- It checks enabled ads in enabled ad groups and campaigns, up to 3,000 ads per account on each run. Ads that are no longer live drop out.
- Placeholders such as
{lpurl}and{campaignid}are understood. - To switch the audit off but keep pacing, set
LINK_AUDITtofalsein the script'sOPTIONS. - The script carries your workspace key. Share it only with people who manage your ad accounts.
